I'm not sure I pedal smoothly. Can I still ride the TOTAL ECLIPSE FRAME without bobbing?
Our CARBON SUSPENSION is considerably stiffer than you may imagine it to be. No bobbing, no matter how you pedal. You will probably not even notice it is there until you hit the first pothole.

CARBON SUSPENSION suspends the saddle, affecting seat height. Won't that have negative effects?
The saddle can move vertically by a few millimeters. It will deflect 1 mm under a 12 kg load - nothing you will notice during your ride. And compare it with a regular bike, where seat height is not constant either: Every bump means that the riders behind is hit. The seat moves upwards towards the butt (compression), reducing saddle height for a fraction of a second. Then the rider lifts off the saddle, increasing seat height. These two phases are repeated over every bump before the rider returns to his normal seat height. The situation with the TOTAL ECLIPSE FRAME is similar. Due to its dampening characteristics, however, the load peaks are greatly reduced, making effective seat height more constant than with a traditional diamond frame. The subjective impressions of our test riders concur with our lab tests.

Does the performance deteriorate with use?
No. The frame material will not deteriorate under the conditions encountered in training or competition. The framee'sdurability has been calculated using a virtual 300 kg (660 lbs.) "Clydesday" rider. Thus, we offer a lifelong warranty against frame breakage for the original owner. The frame has large safety margins. It will last - will you?

I currently ride a SOFTRIDE frame. Can your carbon fiber frame be compared to this system?
The SOFTRIDE system was popular among triathletes in the 1990s, but has faded into the background a bit now. It has its advantages on very long, flat courses due to its soft and comfortable setup. An Ironman course record was set using such a bike, so it is a fast bike. There are two different kinds of SOFTRIDE frames, which differ with regard to spring rate and weight. The TOTAL ECLIPSE FRAME is more than 600 g (1.32 lbs.) lighter than the lightest SOFTRIDE version. The main difference, however, is the much stiffer dampening of our frame. Instead of moving several centimeters our suspension uses only millimeters of travel, letting the feel of the bike be much closer to a traditional road bike.

I ride in varying terrain. Sometimes I spend a day in the mountains, on other days we make long and flat rides. Where does your bike excel?
Climbing demands a lot from a road bike. It must be both light and stiff. In flat terrain, a frame's stiffness is less important. Those riding fast, however, need good aerodynamics, and riders covering long distances will benefit greatly from good dampening. Our frame is light and stiff. It is not quite as light as the very lightest frames, so those looking for the lowest weight only should look elsewhere. Stiffness ratings are excellent - perfect for uphill riding. On flat stretches you can feel the bike fly due to its low drag coefficient. Regardless of rider position, this advantage is always on board. In addition, the CARBON SUSPENSION is guaranteed to make your epic rides less tiring. The longer the tour, the bigger the advantages over ordinary frames.

I compete both in Olympic and Ironman distance triathlons. Which bike should I use?
Due to its low drag coefficient the TOTAL ECLIPSE is ideal for time trialing, especially on hilly or mountainous courses. As one of the lightest machines this is where it really shines. Both the 28" and the 26" versions should be taken into consideration. Rule of thumb: The more mountains, the more relaxed your seat angle should be, thus giving the 28" version an edge. The flatter the terrain, the more you should lean towards the 26" version due to its more aerodynamic rider position.
